Pastor Hill has served Hope since December 1982. A native Long Islander, he previously served Hope Lutheran Church in Braintree, Mass. for 9 years after graduating from Luther Theological Seminary in St. Paul, MN. He is a graduate of Wagner College and received a D.Min. from Andover Newton Theological School. A former conference dean, he serves as Coordinator for the Center for Evangelical Mission.
Our Director of Music has served Hope for more than 40 years. She has a
Bachelor of Science magna cum laude from Wagner College, is a member of Association of Lutheran Church Musicians and a member of Choristers guild. She has attended many conferences for church musicians as well as several music courses at Stony Brook University,and Westminster Choir College. She directs Hope's Choirs and Hope's Bell Choirs, leads our Kids Club, teaches children at Anchor Nursery School and Emmanuel Lutheran School, and directs our Drama Camp and children's musical programs.
Dee Hecker is a Synod Deacon who serves Hope in worship, our Stephen Ministry training program, our Women's Ministry, and our Caring Ministry. She is a graduate of the Metro NY Synod Diakonia program and the Stephen Ministry Leaders Course. She is also active in the Peconic Conference Women's Ministry.
Our Vicar, Dale Newton, has a M.Div. from Cairn University and is completing his candidacy for ordination through the New Jersey Synod of the ELCA.
A New Jersey native, he has an apartment in Selden and will be serving at Hope through June 2022.
Jon Laza has studied Information Technology at Penn State University College of Technology
in Williamsport, PA.
Connie oversees the Anchor Nursery School program and our Summer program at Hope. She brings here creative energy to every program she leads.
